You’ve probably heard of shin splints before
Shin pain is super common in runners both new and experienced. But the tricky thing is that not all shin pain is just “shin splints”.
One of the most common stress fracture locations is the tibia (shin bone). And because shin splints and stress fractures often hurt in similar areas, they get confused all the time.
Often we’ll get calls from runners looking for hep on getting rid of their shin splints. Only to find out the problem is more serious.
Although the area of pain can be very similar, the presentation of shin splints and stress fractures have some key differences.

Just because the pain is in your shin doesn’t mean it’s “just shin splints.”
I’m making a more concerted effort this year to make helpful YouTube videos all about running and running rehab.
If there’s a running or injury topic you’d like me to cover, reply to this email or leave a comment on one of the videos.
Your best is yet to come!
