Reading Time: 1mins

The other day I was emailing with a runner who told me something I hear all the time: She felt fine while running, but her knees were getting sore AFTER she runs.
No pain during. No sharp pricks. No major red flags. Just that lingering, growing knee and hip soreness that shows up later in the day.
Whenever I see this pattern, feeling fine during runs but having soreness afterwards, my mind goes to 1 thing: running form
When impact forces aren’t being absorbed well by the muscles, they get redirected straight into the joints. Over time, that extra stress can show up as post-run stiffness, soreness, or that “creaky” feeling in the knees and hips.
Joint soreness AFTER running is often associated with running form
Small adjustments to running mechanics can dramatically reduce joint stress, and most runners can learn and reinforce those changes within a few weeks. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I teach.
Luckily, I have a couple different workshops around the corner that are focusing on running form. One on Monday December 15th and the next in the new year. Check them both out below. Sign up links have been created 🙂
