Jump Rope to Stop Heel Striking

You may think jumping rope is only reserved for children or boxing movie montages But jumping rope is actually a great way to practice transitioning AWAY from being a HEEL strike runner To a more midfoot/forefoot striking runner Because as you jump in place, you aren’t going to hit with your heels Your body is smarter than that…You’ll naturally land more on the front of your foot and utilize your ankle as a spring to absorb the shock I made a video about this idea on my Instagram page which you can watch here Practicing jumping rope will help you internalize the feeling of your ankles and feet absorbing the shock while running Try doing a 5 minute jump rope workout and see what you think Do a few minutes with a double leg pattern and gradually mix in some single leg jumpingI s it harder to jump on any one leg than another? Could be a sign that leg needs some love
