Almost every runner has experienced it, that nagging ache that makes you wonder:
“Should I keep running, or is this making things worse?”
The answer isn’t as simple as yes or no.
In this week’s video, I explain the three most common pain patterns runners experience and how to tell whether it’s okay to keep running or if it’s time to take a break before a minor issue turns into a more serious injury.
Pay attention to what happens to your pain after your run.
If your discomfort eases as you warm up or settles down shortly after you finish, it may simply be your body’s way of adapting to the workload.
However, if your pain continues to get worse during the run and lingers throughout the rest of the day, it’s a sign that your body needs attention, not more miles.
The key isn’t whether you have pain, it’s how your pain behaves.
In the full video, I explain why this happens, how to recognize the warning signs, and what you should do next to keep running safely.
Watch the full video to learn the difference between normal soreness and pain that could lead to a more serious running injury.
Your best is yet to come!
